BEC - The small business specialists

The Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) is a not-for-profit organisation that provides free and low-cost advice to start-up and established businesses. The centre is located in Welshpool, Western Australia, and is part of a national network of 110 Australian Business Enterprise Centres. The BEC has operated for over 15 years and is partially funded by the Australian government.

What we do

We offer hands-on support and advice on all aspects of running a business, including accounting, taxation, business planning, finance and legal assistance. The BEC is staffed by a friendly team of specialist advisors who have personal experience in small business in Western Australia. We understand that every business is different and we work alongside you to develop strategies to improve your business and increase your profits.

Chris Gray Executive officer BEC BEC Aus national board member Chris is an APEC certified small business counsellor with over 25 years of hands-on experience as a small business owner. He specialises in business growth advice, mentoring, and providing extensive finance and accounting support. Chris has been our principal business advisor since 2003, and has worked closely with more than 1,000 small business owners.	Ross Ludwig Accountant CPA Taxation and accounting specialist Ross is a tertiary-qualified accountant and a Fellow of CPA Australia. He has been the principal of his own accountancy practice for over 20 years, and has provided business services and taxation advice to numerous small businesses during that time. Ross also has recent experience managing complex company accounts, so he understands first-hand the challenges faced by business owners.
Michael Norrish Business management consultant Chairman BEC Mike has more than 40 years of experience working in the banking and finance sector in Western Australia. He has a thorough understanding of general banking, treasury/funds management, commercial banking, credit control and loans management. Mike is also a qualified trainer and assists small business owners with business planning, financial forecasting and mentoring/coaching.	Peter McIntyre Accountant CPA Vice-chairman/Secretary BEC Peter is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), an Associate of the Australian Society of Accountants, a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia, the Australian Institute of Management and numerous other professional bodies.
