It's all about Balance
Arguably the greatest golfer of all time, Tiger Woods is a study in Balance. Centred. Fluid. Powerful. Yet always Balanced.
One of the shrewdest business minds I know, Paul Mackell is quite a golfer himself. (Paul plays off a handicap of 10). And while he’s not in Tiger’s league, Paul too knows something about Balance. Besides running his own highly successful Consultancy ~ Alldale Executive Contracting ~ Paul is a sought-after business speaker & regular mentor. Quite a balancing act.
But as Wednesday’s Guest Speaker at BEC Welshpool Paul will be talking about another vital aspect of Balance…. The Balance Sheet.
“Most business owners either ignore, don’t understand, or simply have no time for their Balance Sheets,” Paul laments.
“Typically what happens,“ he says, “is businesspeople look at their Profit & Loss Statement.”

Paul Mackell in action! Tiger Woods trying to emulate Paul's swing!
“Then some months after the end of the Financial Year they ask their Accountant, ‘did I make a Profit?’ If so, how much? How much Tax do I owe? And do I have enough money in the Bank to pay it?”
Paul says if all those answers are OK, they then breathe a sigh of relief…. & relax.
“What I say is that your Balance Sheet is more important than your P & L because it shows where your Wealth is…. or not,” says Paul.
“Most people, through no fault of their own, are financially illiterate. After all”, he says, “it’s not taught in schools.”
“But if you want to really learn about your business, through Trends, Ratios & Solid Financial Management Information…. it’s all in your Balance Sheet.”
Paul says knowing how to read, interpret & get the benefit of its Balance Sheet means a business is always “investor ready.” And that’s vital.
Paul will be expanding on the powerful ~ & essential ~ use of the Balance Sheet this Wednesday between 5.00pm (for a 5.30pm start) & 7.00pm at an information evening entitled, “Uncrunch The Numbers and Grow Your Business”
